The diocesan seminary Monte Corban Santander hosted the week of July 28 to 31, the the Medicine course Innovation in oncology. The challenge of functional units, organized by the Catholic University of Valencia "San Vicente Mártir" and the Therapeutic Association in Hematology and Medical Oncology, Hospital Arnau de Vilanova.

During the course fifteen oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, surgeons, psychologists and nurses, who analyzed the advances in detection and early treatment of cancer, considered the leading cause of death in the population under 75 years were cited.

These experts shared care solutions both as resource management, research and training that have enabled significant improvements in survival over the past two decades and the challenges that patients, doctors and managers face today. The sessions, aimed at professionals, with room for both specialists in training as medical students and nurses, were divided according to functional management units tumor pathology, originally driven by the "Comprehensive Cancer Centers" in the United States, where specialists from different areas come together in the treatment of a specific carcinogenic pathology in order to offer the best treatment option individually.

The sessions, led by professor of oncology at VCU and Head of Service in the Hospital Arnau de Vilanova, Dr. Antonio Llombart, focused on units in the breast, lung, digestive and continuing care.
